I think she is concern because she scared there would be tear in the water bag and the bacteria might just infect the baby. So she said she can give me antibiotics drip, it can be during labor and then immediate attention to the baby or fix a date and have Cesarean. She intend to give me Penicillin, however, i am allergic to Penicillin since birth. Plus i am also allergic to a lot of antibiotics and painkillers. So she suggested that i should go for a Drug allergy patch test at the National Skin Centre to confirm what other medicines i am allergy to and try to be safe.
I have read from forums and heard from a real mother whom had experienced this before. There are lower chances baby will get infect, but some may be infected by the bacteria once the water bag burst and the baby drank the Virgina fluid during labor. So in fact, there are possibilities that baby will still be infect by it. There are mothers suggested Cesarean, because the chances are not high. I am in both dilemma now, on whether to natural birth or cesarean. But also depends on the bacteria levels now. My Gynae mentioned if the bacteria level is high, possible chances are to do a cesarean. She asked me to wait for the Nurse to call on the allergy patch test.
Just received the call today, the nurse said i must go and fix an appointment and gave me numbers to call to enquire on whether they require doctors referral letter in order to proceed. So i have to call on Monday morning and get back to the nurse.
Now i left only less than 3 months to see our precious boy to be out in this world. I am pretty excited and hope that he would be healthy too! Time really flies. Just couldn't wait. HAHA. I will stay positive and have to be happy and wait for the arrival of this naughty little boy and give him all my hugs and kisses. :)
